Jewelry Gemstones With Some Fire

Sterling Silver Orange and Clear Crystal Earrings Made with Swarovski Elements
Some gemstones will display or show some flashes of white light or a rainbow of colors when they are for instance turned around, this is generally referred to as the gemstone ‘fire’. If you are interested in getting some of these types of gemstones for your use, or as a gift you can give to others, as a heirloom or to add to your own collection, you may want to know about some of the gemstones that may contain more ‘fire’ than others.

Colorless diamondsare likely to disperse or reflect more flashes of light or fire than colored diamonds. And lighter colored gemstones are also more likely to display more ‘fire‘ than those with some darker colors too. The fire of colored gemstones may be masked or muted in some way by their colors.

A gemstone fire can contribute to or enhance the sparkle and appeal of a gemstone.

A gemstone fire is defined by the dispersion value for the gemstone, the higher the dispersion value of a gemstone the more fire it is likely to display.
